During his relatively brief career, Canadian painter Tom Thomson created 300 hundred oil sketches and 30 canvases, many of which depicted the beauty, freshness and isolation of Ontario's Algonquin Park. Art lovers may recognize these works by their bold colours enmeshed with strong lines and patterns. There is also a certain melancholic overtone in many of these pieces.
