This season introduces a new train, Bruno the Brake Car, who has autism. Bruno introduces audiences to a “positive, neurodivergent role model” per Mattel, which worked with organizations including the Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN) and Easterseals Southern California along with autistic writers and others to ensure the character represents autistic people positively. Bruno is voiced by autistic actor, Chuck Smith.
