Planting: • Plant these bulbs in fall. • Plant them with the pointy end up in a sunny to semi-shaded area about 15 cm (6 in) deep and 15 to 20 cm (6 to 8 in) apart. • Water thoroughly after planting. • Hyacinths bulbs can cause skin irritation, therefore wash your hands after planting. Growing: • Close placement to the house allows you to enjoy the fragrant aroma from the bulbs inside the house as well as in the garden. • These bulbs are great for containers and can be used for indoor forcing. • These bulbs are deer resistant and work great in areas where deer or rodents are a problem. Winterizing: • Remove the flowers when they are spent. Otherwise the plant will divert energy from building up the bulb, which is necessary for next year’s display. • After flowering, the leaves should be allowed to die down. The leaves will gather sunlight and provide nourishment for next year’s show. • These bulbs come back for several years.
