Moral Education in America is written for educators, counselors and others involved in teaching and administrative roles, such as parents, business leaders and public officials. It concerns a new moral attitude in America that has had a substantial impact in education and society at large. It is causing us to lose sight of some important fundamentals that affect learning and behavior. Moral principles that have been part of our culture for centuries, and have contributed enormously to the development of democracy and freedom in America, are being de-emphasized.
