Since the end of the cold war, the United States (US) significantly reduced its overseas basing structure and personnel. These factors increased the importance of AMC's aircraft and enroute structure to ensure the US can project power anywhere, at anytime. To accomplish these tasks, AMC builds a \"virtual\" air mobility superhighway across the globe to move forces where needed.
