This thesis compares the operational requirements of OIF with the SBCT infantry company MTOE design. The problem is determining why SBCT infantry company commanders are modifying their MTOE organization while deployed to OIF. To address the problem the thesis analyzed the OIF operational environment, what company commanders thought, and what additional or unique resources the infantry company requires. This thesis also analyzed the structure's limitations in terms of doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities (DOTMLPF).
