This Dutch Oven is meant to be hand washed and treated with oil after every use to maximize its performance and longevity.
Use & care instructions:
Clean prior to first use. Hand wash only, with hot, soapy water, rinse well and dry completely before storing.
Allow skillet and lid to cool prior to washing. Use a plastic scrub brush, sponge or dishcloth. Never use scrubbers with built-in harsh cleansers or detergents.
Use only safe utensils on enameled finish cookware. Always use plastic, wooden or heat-resistant silicone utensils, spoons and spatulas.
A little oil is needed; it helps to keep foods from initially sticking if you use a tiny bit of oil, butter or margarine. Avoid using cooking oil sprays, because they usually contain additives that can be too harsh for the enameled finish cookware.
Always use low to moderate heat for cooking, and bring your skillet up to temperature slowly. Prolonged periods of high heat should be avoided. As a general rule, if a little butter starts to burn, the temperature is too high.
WARNING: Do not use in microwave oven. Cookware handles get hot; use mitts. Use trivets to protect countertops from hot cookware.
